The Hundredth Chamber began with a question: what should a hundredth project remember? Not the number itself, but the years of trust, failed ideas, successful experiments, difficult production days and moments when a frame finally became more than a photograph.

FOI began in Kolkata in 2017. Every project since then has taught us something about light, direction, privacy, emotion and the responsibility of photographing another person. For our hundredth production, we wanted all of those lessons to exist inside one visual world.

A room built from memory

We chose an old private salon with tall wooden windows, chandeliers, marble floors, carved furniture and long passages. The architecture already carried silence. Our task was to decide what kind of memory could live inside it.

The result became four emotional worlds interpreted by Aayu Choudhary, Swapna Halder, Poulomi and Debpriya. Each muse entered the same chamber, but no two stories were directed in the same way.

Not a milestone. A direction.

This project is our way of saying that Indian boudoir can be intimate without becoming empty, cinematic without losing the person, and ambitious without losing trust. The Hundredth Chamber is a record of where FOI has arrived and a doorway into what we want to build next.
